Richard DeVoe, a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Financial PlannerTM, graduated from the University of Mississippi with degrees in accounting and finance in 1983 and 1984. Upon graduation he joined the accounting firm of Clarke, Bradley and Baker in Greenville.  He then moved back home to Oxford after five years of practice and started his own firm shortly thereafter.  He formed Church, DeVoe and associates, PLLC in 2000 where he is the managing partner.  He has practiced public accounting for 25 years.  He obtained his Certified Financial PlannerTM designation in 2004. In his practice of accounting he established a professional partnership with Barnes Pettey Financial Advisors, LLC (an independent firm) in 1995 and continues a relationship today. As the relationship grew he became licensed. He currently holds series 7, series 63, and series 65 licenses. He is also licensed to sell life and health insurances. He is currently a registered investment representative with Raymond James Financial Services, Inc. He holds the Personal Financial Specialist designation from the AICPA.  He practices in the areas of financial planning, investment management, income tax planning and business consulting.

Richard has been active in his community serving as an alderman for the City of Oxford.  He was elected for two terms. He previously served on its planning commission.  He was recently (2004) appointed by Governor Barbour to the Mississippi Business Finance Corporation and the Mississippi Development Bank.  He has served on various non-profits in Oxford.  He is the former Treasurer of the First Presbyterian Church of Oxford and and is an Elder. He is the past president of the greater Oxford Lafayette Community Foundation and is currently on its Board.

Richard is married to Ann and they have two children, Mary Frances and Ellie. He is an avid golfer and duck hunter.
